Edger von Erlensee is a delightful 16 month old "wanna-be shepherd" mix. If you are looking for a dog with personality in a not-too-big package, Edger is full of positive energy and is friendly and sweet as can be. He has a fantastic temperament with other dogs, whether he’s running into them on his daily strolls or hanging out with them in playgroups. He has had no issues with anyone at the rescue, and is just looking for a playmate. With his humans, Edger is just as sociable and will always come with a smile and a happily-wagging tail when he sees you. On the leash, Edger could use a bit more training but he’s already starting to learn corrections and is very responsive to them. Edger has his bags packed and is ready to travel near or far (out-of-state!) to join his forever home.

Edger comes from a farming community and often dogs aren't vaccinated before they are exposed in local animal shelters. Charming Edger came down with distemper, our hearts broke, we just felt terrible that we might lose a special little spirit, but he wasn't giving up. He is now virus free, a robust, strong boy, he has a little twitch once in a while, it might get less with time. It is his badge of courage, he is a survivor, some family will be so lucky!
